Bug out in Pritchard Park with the North Carolina Entomological Society!
Learn about the bugs living all around us on Saturday, August 20 from 10 am to 12 pm. Using pitfall traps, cover boards, sweep nets, and beat sheets, we'll be able to capture, inspect, and photograph a variety of bugs.
Bring your phone or camera to help take photos of live insects. Insects will be returned to the wild after being photographed. After the hike, we will upload our photos to iNaturalist where they will be shared with scientists and naturalists. Prizes will be awarded to the participants with the most insect uploads on iNaturalist.
Participants will also have a chance to interact with the North Carolina Entomological Society's Bug Petting Zoo.
