Program Description

Event Details

Come party with us at the first Family Fun Friday of the season, featuring music from Ancestor Piratas!

Enjoy live music, games, food trucks, and fun for the whole family as we kick off our Summer Blast at the library.

We’ll have yard games, chalk, bubbles, giant Jenga, and more fun games available. You can register for summer reading and pick out a free prize book. Food trucks Utensilz Optional and Maple View Farm Ice Cream will be onsite selling food and treats, or feel free to bring your own food to enjoy picnic-style. The event will be held from 6-8pm, with music being performed from 6:15 to 7:45pm.

Bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on and enjoy the music—and we’ll supply the fun.

About Ancestor Piratas

Ancestor Piratas is the solo music project of Carrboro-based Peruvian musician and visual artist Renzo Ortega, and you can listen to Ortega's music ahead of the event on Tracks Music Library. He has been performing and recording music for over 25 years, playing both political and love songs in different venues including museums and DIY art spaces in Lima, New York, Texas, Chicago, North Carolina, Berlin, and México City.
