In a nod to Earth Day, join us to Weaken the Wisteria in Pritchard Park on Thursday, April 17, 4-6 pm.
Wisteria has no natural predators, even deer and insects won’t eat it, so it’s up to us humans to keep it in check. Pritchard Park's eastern edge (along Franklin Street) is under serious threat by wisteria. Many of the thick vines climbing up trees have been cut, but the wisteria is spreading by runners and bushes out into the woods. Now's the time to halt the advance!
Do something good for Earth today! We'll meet in the upper parking lot near the storm water basin. Wear boots or sturdy shoes and your favorite gardening gloves. Some tools will be provided but if you have pruners please bring them.
