Come party with us at Family Fun Friday, featuring music from The Magic of African Rhythm!
Enjoy live music, games, food trucks, and fun for the whole family as we celebrate Summer Blast at the library.
We’ll have yard games, chalk, bubbles, giant Jenga, and more fun games available. You can register for summer reading and pick out a free prize book. Food trucks Mac House and Maple View Farm Ice Cream will be onsite selling food and treats, or feel free to bring your own food to enjoy picnic-style. The event will be held from 6-8pm, with music being performed from 6:15 to 7:45pm.
Bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on and enjoy the music—and we’ll supply the fun.
About The Magic of African Rhythm
The Magic of African Rhythm (TMOAR) is a pillar in the bridge that connects us to our African heritage across the ocean. Baba and Mama Shabu began working on the bridge in the 1960’s and the Shabu Family continues this cultural tradition today.
The African concept of Ngoma, the “rhythmic thread” that links drumming, singing, dancing, and visual arts together, is expressed in all our offerings: Djembe Fire!, Balankora, and Safari Ngoma.
