Calling all writers— kick off National Novel Writing Month by joining us in conversation and Q&A with local author Karen Tucker. Tucker's debut novel Bewilderness was selected as a "Dazzling Debut" by the American Booksellers Association and longlisted for the Aspen Words Literary Prize and Crook's Corner Book Prize. Tucker's short fiction can be found in The Yale Review, The Missouri Review, EPOCH, Tin House, Boulevard, and elsewhere. Born and raised in North Carolina, she teaches fiction and creative nonfiction at UNC Chapel Hill.

Participants will have a chance to ask Tucker questions about drafting, her writing process, motivation, writing challenges, and meeting writing goals.

About NaNoWriMo

National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo is a creative writing challenge that began in 1999 and happens annually in November.  NaNoWriMo challenges participants to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days. Many novels have been published as a result of NaNoWriMo participation including Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, and Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl to name a few.  To learn more about NaNoWriMo visit their website here: https://nanowrimo.org/about-nano and consider joining us for our series of Write-ins at the library throughout the month of November.
