We’re having a Sun Party! A solar eclipse is an amazing and rare opportunity that you won’t want to miss! An eclipse of the Sun occurs when the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth. We’ll introduce you to eclipse science and viewing through informative activities, videos, and displays about the Sun, Moon, and eclipses.
Get your solar viewing glasses and information on how to safely view the partial solar eclipse that we will experience in Chapel Hill. Bear in mind that everyone in the family doesn’t need their own glasses. The glasses can be passed around during the eclipse and three or four people can easily use the same pair of glasses. We’ll practice using our eclipse glasses and other safe viewing methods so you’ll be ready to go on eclipse day.
Join us at CHPL on Sunday, April 7 to learn about the Total Solar Eclipse crossing the US on Monday April 8, 2024.
